Garlic farmer's fury ignites wealth gap debate

In central China's Henan province, a conflict arose when a luxury car inadvertently drove over a farmer's garlic seedlings. The incident, which occurred on April 5, saw the enraged farmer, surnamed Liu, chase the vehicle on her electric bike and subsequently vandalize it with a brick, damaging the wing mirror, windows, and bonnet.

The driver, Zhang, and his wife, unaware of the damage caused, only discovered the reason for Liu's fury at the police station. This sparked an intense debate on social media about wealth disparity, highlighting how significant the loss of a few seedlings can be for some. The situation ended with a mutual compensation agreement between the parties involved.
