The greenhouse vegetable season is in full swing at Witkamp. This Dutch specialist markets those vegetables under the Jackpot brand. "The market is excellent, and we're short of products daily," says Morris Peters.
"We sell mini cucumbers from seven locations, covering a total area of 20 hectares, long thin Citir cucumbers from five locations, totaling 12 hectares, and long 'Turkish' eggplants from two locations that cover a four-hectare area. We should eventually expand to more locations and hectares."
"Our market extends across all of Europe, and our customers are noticeably loyal to the Jackpot brand. We've been working with mini cucumbers for a few years now," Morris continues, "and clients find their way to us for our Jackpot brand. Following our mini cucumbers' success in the Netherlands, we continue with Spanish mini cucumbers in the winter."
"The Jackpot brand was already known in the trade as our premium TOV brand. By adding mini cucumbers, the delicate long thin cucumbers, Turkish eggplants, and later this season also pointed peppers, we can provide our European buyers with an increasingly wide range under a trusted brand," Morris concludes.
